He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College as part of their combined 5 year program. He trained in his specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) at New York University Medical Center and the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his MBA at Saint Joseph’s University.
He has served in numerous leadership positions with Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health, including Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, President of the Medical and Dental Staff and as a member of the Board of Trustees. He currently serves on the Board of Managers of the Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health Community Care Collaborative.
In the past, he has served on the faculty at Temple University and the Board of Directors of the Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center, among other positions.

On a national level, has served as an examiner for EMG board exam and writes questions for the Neuromuscular Medicine board exam.
